China is the world's largest rubber consumer. With the rapid development of the automobile industry and mining machinery, China has been the world's largest rubber consumer for seven consecutive years. According to statistics from the World Rubber Research Organization, China's rubber consumption in 2008 was 5.995 million tons, accounting for 27% of the world's total consumption. At the same time, China is also a country with very scarce rubber resources. More than 70% of natural rubber and more than 40% of synthetic rubber in China rely on imports, and the contradiction between supply and demand is very prominent. In 2008, the domestic production of various types of tires was about 546 million (including motorcycle tires, etc.), and the production of waste tires was nearly 200 million.
As we all know, the world tire turning industry has been in existence for more than a century. The history of China's tire retreading industry can be traced back to the tire turning society that appeared in 1928. Even since the establishment of the tire turning factory in China in 1937, it has been 72 years. History. Since the founding of New China 60 years ago, China's tire retreading industry has undergone tremendous changes. In the five years from 2004 to 2008, domestic new tire production was 239 million, 318 million, 433 million, 479 million, and 555 million (a five-year period has more than doubled). The serious shortage of natural rubber and synthetic rubber resources has also promoted the rapid development of the tire retreading industry. The amount of used tire retreading is increasing year by year, from 2004 to 8 million, 9.6 million in 2005, and 10 million in 2006. It has increased to 11 million in 2007, 12 million in 2008, and reached in 2009 13 million. China's tire retreading industry has begun to enter the ranks of the world's major tire retreading producers. Despite the rapid development of China's tire retreading industry, the variety of retreaded tires is not wide enough. At present, more than 80% of them are concentrated on tire retreading of buses and freight trucks. Others such as: the retreading of car tires has just started, the retreading rate of large mining tires accounts for only 20%, and the retreading rate of aviation tires is only about 10%. According to the statistics of 54 domestic enterprises above designated size in 2008 by the National Bureau of Statistics, tire retreading achieved a total industrial output value of 2.23 billion yuan; for 209 enterprises above designated size, the recycled rubber production industry achieved a total industrial output value of 12.3 billion yuan.
